Cake smash sessions are a fun way to celebrate your little’s 1st birthday! For all of our one year sessions, we also do a non-cake smash set to capture this special milestone. Your little one is showing different expressions by now. They may be leaning, standing or even walking by one. All you have to provide are the outfits that your child will wear, we provide everything else…. However, we do keep a few one year clothing items on our kids clothes rack. Here are few things to prepare for your session:
- Session fee – $125 includes cake, props, and styling, Add family to your session for just $175 (Baby plan clients pay no session fee as part of their membership benefits.)
- $375 minimum order for 20 images* or upgrade to all for $175 more
- Invest in our minimum premium artwork requirement… and get the rest of your files (over 20) for FREE!
- Choose outdoors or indoors. It’s easier to create sets in my studio. However, if the weather is nice and your little one can stay awake at sunset hours, then your little one could go outside.
- Let your child try cake in advance. If your baby has never had cake, she/he will have no idea what we are putting in front of them.
- Have no expectations for your child! Some children could care less about the cake and some children dig right in. It’s best to go into the experience knowing that we are ultimately there to capture your child’s personality and not our expectations of how they should act on their 1st year shoot. We want to document exactly who they are at one!! Trust me- this will be a great story to retell when they get older.
- It can be messy!! Bring towels and a change of clothes for you and your baby. Expect to get messy and expect that your child could get very messy. The colored icing will wash off of them. We will do the cake set last and get lots of cute of shots before the mess begins!!
- Know that you don’t HAVE to do cake smash for one year photos! I have plenty of clients that opt out of this trend and just do a cute set and milestone images. If getting messy, sounds stressful for you then it probably will be… So let’s just do a fun set!! Trust me you’ll love your images either way!
