Grooms – How to Fold a Pocket Square

At the last wedding I shot, I realized that there was a special need that my client’s might appreciate. As a wedding photographer, I have been asked on more than one occasion in the midst of the moment how to insert a handkerchief, pin a boutonniere, fold a pocket square, and even tie a tie.  Unfortunately, I’m not quite well versed in these areas. But, I realized that it would a great thing to add to my client resource section. I mean some of us only get this dressed on our special day. So why would we be expected to know these things??? So for all you grooms out there, I was THRILLED to find out about the site the Art of Manliness. The site has a complete video and tutorial on extremely important things for grooms such as:

how to fold a handkerchief

What a huge sigh of relief I have to be able to direct my grooms and groomsmen to this site and they can learn on the spot. I’m going to include the video here so you get a taste of the teaching style that the creators have.  I think it is super simple and easy to implicate on the  spot.

One tip:  iron the handkerchief before folding.  We learned this AFTER the fact as you will notice the creases in the top photo.  Those stay there and make it harder to fold, so lesson learned.

Yes, I did rely on the video because I wanted to point out this amazing site the Art of Manliness. There are so many good tidbits of info for men. I’m also not an expert on men’s styling so I wanted to refer my clients to a good resource. The whole post was a plug for Art of Manliness. I do agree that I need to write more but, I’m not a writer. I’m a photographer. Thanks for your comment!
